we visit every year around xmas time and this year was absolutely appalling.
the food was barely edible and the staff seemed so busy we didn’t even get the chance to complain.
the chips soggy, the chicken dry and the potato dishes were just flavourless.
the owner really needs to give a bit more training both out front and back.
we will not be returning.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the ambience is simply fantastic.
I have never felt more uncomfortable and unwelcome in any restaurant anywhere in the world!
We mistakenly showed up 15 mins late for our booking, and although apologetic, were practically told off!
We were hurried to order our food, as we were told our booking had a strict – very strict as it turned out! - time limit on it….
Post our food, we sat with empty plates on our table for at least 10mins… once cleared, we were offered desert ….. only to be told - by the incredibly condescending, falsely over-friendly server that the manager had intervened and declared the 1 desert we were going to order, could not possibly be prepared in the 20mins remaining on our booking!
We paid the bill and left ……. Never to return!
Lesson to learn - “The Bank” – it is not enough just to serve good food, your staff, and indeed manager, should also learn some skills too !
