Horrible service. Waited for over 1.5 hour to get our toddler's ice cream. Two different staff members seemed unable to get it out of the freezer and bring it to us despite repeated requests. Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

My partner and I booked day pass tickets for us and our toddler on a term time Tuesday. We’d never been to Butlins before and were keeping an open mind - hoping our son would enjoy the day more than anything. We had a plan for what we wanted to do and see to make the most of our time but that went out the window pretty quickly. We parked in the pay and display car park, £14.70 for the day, not cheap but not horrendous either, but something to factor in to costs. We started thinking about lunch on the face of things there’s multiple places to eat! Except hardly any of them were open. Maybe we had bad luck and chose a day that some (a lot of) places don’t open, but it narrowed down the choices to Burger King, subway, a noodle place or The Beachcomber Inn, which is where we decided to try. Dear god, as previously mentioned, we went into the day trying to keep an open mind, but the food there is literally some of the worst I’ve ever encountered. We were assuming something similar to Wetherspoons, but no, it was genuinely hideous. My boy got a junior pizza and it was like it was made of rubber. 3 chicken goujons for ~£6.50. None of it was hot. It took about 35 minutes to arrive too despite the restaurant not being very busy. Price per person: £10–20 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
