We are genuinely sorry to hear that you have been disturbed by noise from the pub.We would like to reassure you that our live music is always scheduled within our permitted licensing hours, and we take our responsibilities to our neighbours and the wider village very seriously.The Bell is very much a community pub. Alongside live music, we host our weekly community choir, local groups and clubs, charity and fundraising events, wellbeing and craft evenings, village activities and other events designed to bring people together and keep a village pub at the heart of its community.Like many pubs today, events are an important part of keeping a small independent village pub viable. Larger events are advertised well in advance, not only on our own social media but through local channels such as the Adderbury Contact, so that people are aware of what is happening.That said, we absolutely understand that being part of a community also means listening when somebody has a concern. One point you have raised has already prompted us to speak to local taxi firms and ask that drivers switch their engines off while waiting outside the pub. We are also as diligent as possible in ensuring our patrons leave quietly, with appropriate signage throughout the pub and reminders as they leave. I was born in Adderbury and love this village very much, so concerns from people who live here are important to me. We would genuinely welcome you coming in and speaking to us personally so that we can understand exactly what has been troubling you and see what we can do.All we ask is that conversations remain calm and respectful.
