Visited here as they are here after fire at their Ryde shop. Parking outside. Ordered by telephone in advance. Person who took order was very helpful. Food ready when arrived at agreeded time. Took food away but is seating inside and out. Good portions. Really well cooked. Great fish and chips. Went to the codfather mostly for the pun and the history but so impressed by the whole experience. 3 kids fish and chips, scampi, drinks and all was marvellous. Really helpful staff as well. Thanks- will definitely be back Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

Absolutely smashed it. The fish was spot on—fresh, flaky, and wrapped in a delicious, golden batter that had just the right texture without being greasy. You could actually taste the quality of the fish, not just the coating. But the real star? The chips. Properly cooked and packed with flavour—none of that bland, is it potato nonsense. Every bite was spot on. One of those takeaways where you finish it and immediately think, “yeah, I’m coming back.” No photo because I couldn’t wait to eat it.
