Had food here order a large fish as that was the only size they do when got it was very small an batter so crispy the chips had a weird taste like they had been washed in washing up liquid and the cheese fryitet was soggy and greesey would rate it a 4 Meal type: Dinner

I’d been eager to visit The Codfather ever since it reopened after a fire that had closed the business for some time. The young staff were friendly, polite, and working hard. The shop was clean and tidy, with a straightforward menu focused on traditional chippy classics. Prices were spot-on, and the cod and chips came in a generous portion. The cod was fresh and flavourful, and while the batter was nicely crispy and tasty on the outside, it was undercooked in places inside. The chips were decent, though nothing special. The gravy and mushy peas had just enough flavour to get by, though both could’ve used a bit more flavour and a thicker consistency. The in-house tartare sauce had a good tang, but not quite sharp enough to cut through the mayonnaise entirely; it was still delicious overall. This chippy is getting worse we called in today for two gluten free fish and chips with m / peas .
We'll to start with the fish found to be cold & small portions ,batter rock hard ,peas 50% solid not good enough & not cheap when your a celiac you relia on people who say thay supplie a high quality product. you can make your own mind up .butt we won't be bothering again we have Hadit with The cod farther .
