I went to The Dover last night, and it was phenomenal. It was pricey, as expected, but the food and ambience were well worth it. It was miles ahead of other restaurants charging similar prices and is one of the few I would happily return to, alongside COYA. We ordered the prawn cocktails and Quattro Formaggi as starters, and both were excellent. For the pasta, we had the lemon and chilli pasta and the spaghetti lobster. The lobster pasta was excellent, but the lemon pasta blew me away. It was spectacular and quite possibly the best pasta I have ever had. For the main, we had the Beef Arrosto with mash, which was also phenomenal. The meat was tender and delicate. I had to add a little extra salt to mine, but it was still excellent. We had martinis as well. The Vesper was good, but the Rosa was outstanding—one of the best, if not the best, martinis I have had in London. It is well worth visiting for a treat or even just a quick drink at the bar. The service by Alexis was impeccable, and it was genuinely one of the best dining experiences I have ever had.
