Great pub, busy with lots of friendly locals that were happy to chat. Owner gave great advice on local events and attractions. Definitely return when were back in lovely Deal! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: £10–20

A cracking little find at The Forester — proudly owned by five women and full of charm. We were just passing through on our way to the Dover ferry but always prefer to spend our money in independent spots, and this didn’t disappoint. Warm welcome from the off, great value, and a proper friendly atmosphere — locals included (no American Werewolf in London vibes here). Honestly, I’d come back to Deal just for this pub and The Lane Cafe alone. Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Price per person: £1–10
