Wow. What a night. We've been lucky enough to eat at some fantastic restaurants over the years, but Adam Reid at The French has genuinely blown us away. From the minute we arrived, everything felt special without ever feeling stuffy or pretentious. The food was absolutely incredible. Every course seemed to outdo the last, with flavours that were both comforting and surprising at the same time. You could tell how much thought, skill and passion had gone into every dish. There honestly wasn't a single thing we didn't love. The service was spot on too – friendly, knowledgeable and attentive without being overbearing. Everyone made us feel welcome and relaxed, which only added to what was already an amazing experience. What I can't understand is how this restaurant doesn't have a Michelin star. Having eaten in Michelin-starred restaurants before, I can honestly say The French is right up there with the very best. The quality of the food, the creativity, the service and the overall experience were exceptional. A huge thank you to Adam Reid and the entire team for such a memorable evening. We left talking about the food all the way home and are already looking forward to coming back. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Dietary restrictions: Catered for my nut allergy
