Food was nice, nothing exceptional though over priced, think l paid £22 for a lamb kebab and a a few chips, but it fresh. The service was SHOCKING staff just left us stood there while two of them seemed on a go slow. We didn’t visit this week in the heatwave this was prior and an evening. When we’d stood there for 10 minutes the girl with dark hair looked and said l am going the cellar so l asked the man who had gone to make a coffee after he served the man infront of me - are we supposed to order at the tables? He ignored me so l stood there for another 5 minutes no one else at the bar the lady appeared l asked her are we supposed to order drinks here or at the table outside ? She replied you should order them at the table it’s quicker, to which a man came in next to me and l walked back to my table outside. No other customers at the bar except the man who just came in as l walked away and as l sat down explaining to my friends why after 15/20 mins l still had no drinks and them saying is that why the place is so dead?? The man who came in after me then walks out with two pints, so strange how the the whole time l was there only the men got severed?? I then decided to just eat the food and go back to the anchor and we had lovely service in there. The girl who ordered our food did say when she went in to order the food she was told she couldn’t order food to that table number and she needed to be on a table closer to the bar - so came out ordered to the food to the table 3 meters away and when it came we then moved back- staff member told us to get our own cutlery it’s by the door- As group of over 15 people we all come to the conclusion your staff are trained in customer service so we will be drinking and eating elsewhere where women feel welcomed. Shame really if used to be a lovely family feel in this pub but now lve read some reviews - l see why it was a 1/3 full on a Friday evening. Great location, great food poor staff. Such a same because the kids love it there and the layout is great but the staff were just rude. Ruined it for us. I thought maybe one of the women just didn't like me but I heard the table next to me commenting on the staff being snotty. Price per person: £20–30 Food: 5 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

The Farmers Arms is located in Frankby Village which is one of Wirral's oldest rural settlements, being a traditional style coaching inn. During 2023 the Farmers Arms underwent a major refurbishment costing £500,000 by the firm DGB Hospitality which included upgrades of a heated and covered outdoor terrace, plus a new outside bar and the bar inside was repositioned with a stage for live music. The pub can cater for about 110 customers inside and in the region of 300 outside; it has quite a spacious car park too. 2023 was a good year for the Farmers Arms as it was award status as Wirral's Favourite Country Pub and nominated for a Great British Pub Award. There is a fine selection of beers, wines and spirits at the bar. Freshly cooked food is available with a good choice and tasting really delicious. Staff are always friendly and make customers feel very welcome. A great pub overall where you can enjoy a quiet pint (or two) and a good night out in a relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommended.
