I stayed seven nights for a conference and I wouldn’t come back. I was in what they call a “cosy double.” Cosy is doing a lot of heavy lifting there – it’s just small and crammed. My bag had nowhere to go: no wardrobe, no safe, no storage at all except a few hooks by the door. When I asked to move, staff told me all the cosy doubles are the same. So that’s that. Every single night I was woken up around 3 or 4am by loud thuds and luggage being dragged up the stairs and that would go on throughout the whole morning. Seven nights, zero full sleeps. It was one of the most frustrating hotel experiences I’ve ever had. For a 4-star hotel at that price, I expected a lot more. You’re essentially paying a premium for the postcode and not much else. The staff were friendly and genuinely helpful, that’s worth saying. Just couldn’t fix the actual problems with the place. Great location, but if you value sleep, look elsewhere Service: 3

Excellent overnight stay here. Absolutely faultless. Staff so friendly. Breakfast amazing as were the cocktails thoroughly reccomend

The Place Hotel is a very nice place to spend an overnight stay in Edinburgh. The accommodation blew us away. The room is like a suite. We really felt relaxed staying there. The staff was very pleasant, courteous, welcoming and helpful.
