A group of us stopped by for drinks and some nibbles at 5:30pm on a Monday. We ordered a round of drinks to start and were told there's a promo on all beers (it's also displayed on boards in the bar) between 5-7pm. We thought "great", let's settle in. However, when we ordered a second round at circa 6pm- from a different bartender (a guy with a pony tail and a beard) - not only was the card machine held at an angle where we couldn't see the amount, we were charged more than full price. When we remonstrated with the bartender he shrugged it off and promised redress when we ordered a third drink. He said his "hands were tied" on giving refunds. This guy is super shady, and another customer told us that this isn't the first time they've seen him try this 'trick'. BEWARE. This bartender is a snake and will totally crap on this pub's excellent reputation.

We chose to have drinks and our dinner after our Abney Park wedding at The Prince. The food was excellent and the staff were great. The upstairs function room is a lovely space, would recommend anyone else to do the same! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
