We had a deeply disappointing experience, largely due to the staff rushing us to order and making us feel unwelcome from the start. The service felt careless, unprofessional, and entirely unaccommodating, as though they just wanted us gone. We were hoping for a pleasant holiday meal, but this poor attitude ruined the outing for our entire group. It is baffling how a hospitality business can treat customers this way, and we will certainly not be coming back. Food: 4 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £20–30

.. What was supposed to be a cute double date turned into one of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had. We originally booked for a different time, but the manager contacted us and asked us to change our reservation because they had "bigger customers" who wanted our time slot. We agreed to be accommodating, which was already disappointing but not the end of the world. Unfortunately, things only got worse when we arrived. The manager was incredibly rude and rushed us throughout the entire meal. Before we had even sat down properly, we were given bottled still water without being asked whether we wanted it. Nobody mentioned the price or offered tap water as an option. We were later charged £4 per bottle. I had originally planned to order white wine, but after feeling pressured into paying for water, I decided not to order what ive planned to order ( lobsters and wines ) becoz I want to leave so badly.. hated here When I only ordered the seafood risotto, one of the male members of staff gave me such an unpleasant attitude that I felt uncomfortable for the rest of the evening. It genuinely felt as though we weren't welcome unless we were spending a certain amount of money. The food itself was actually quite good, I'll give them that. However, halfway through our meal, an extremely strong cigarette smell came from downstairs/the kitchen area. It was so overpowering that it made me feel sick and I ended up vomiting in the toilet. The female staff members were friendly, but they were clearly under pressure to rush us out. We were repeatedly asked "Are you finished?" several times while we were still eating and talking. We had barely opened the menu before staff came over asking what we wanted to order. The whole experience felt rushed from beginning to end because they seemed desperate to get us out for their next "bigger customers". No customer should feel pressured to change their booking, be forced into paying for bottled water without being informed of the alternatives, rushed throughout their meal, or made to feel unwelcome for ordering less than expected. Good food cannot make up for terrible hospitality. I won't be returning. The Razor Clam is a lovely place to eat down in St Ives. I’ll start by saying our food did take a long time to come and we were waiting a long while for our mains but hopefully this was just a one off. When the food did come it was really good! Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £30–40
