Not enough words to describe how great this little pub is! First time visit with family including children, was very quiet to begin with but understandable after a late night England game the night before. The young woman serving, Amy couldn't have done enough for us, super friendly, very attentive, warm and welcoming x Beautifully decorated throughout, spotless bathrooms, pool table and dart board, free of charge and large sunny beer garden. Ooh and how can I forget free roastes with gravy on a Sunday! Will definitely be back! Price per person: £10–20 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Visited here for the second time. Nice pub but Bar man had a mardy face both times. They advertise cocktails but don’t have the ingredients or at-least he said they didn’t. Gets an attitude if you ask for brandy because apparently they only have it in the cellar and not at the bar. How is that the paying customers fault? Just makes you feel like you aren’t welcome he needs to change his attitude. Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2

Could you please let us know which cocktail you requested, what date you visited and roughly what time it was? We will look into this for you. The Red Lion is a brilliant dog friendly pub with a welcoming atmosphere and really friendly staff. It’s a great place to relax and catch up with friends, with a pool table and darts board for a bit of fun, plus a lovely beer garden for when the sun’s out. Always a good vibe here – definitely worth a visit in Thorpe Hesley! Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
