Beautiful kiosk with a hidden seating area right by the river and a natural waterfall. You could be entertained by pedalos going past in a variety of guises. Unicorns, dragons & swans etc. The owners had created a very relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere. Flowers blooming from various boxes. We didn't eat but prices look ok. Coffee was advertised as 'bean to cup' so we ordered a couple. Unfortunately this is why I had to give only 3 stars. The 'Bean' used for the coffee was awful. I'm guessing not an an Arabica 'Bean'. We are prolific coffee drinkers and as we drink it black , the taste was very noticeable. Would not order a coffee from there again due to this but the ladies serving were hard working and polite. The coffee is ruining your delightful setup. Please rethink as £3.40 for a real good tasting black coffee can be bought from other good outlets at the same price. If the coffee you sold was £1.50 I probably wouldn't write this review. Service: 3 Atmosphere: 5

At First I thought we choose a really nice spot for me and my wife and two children to sit and have food , that was until our food came out and our jacket potato’s were freezing cold but the chili hot , when I took it back and said it’s cold and I’ve barely got any chili all I got was a rude response and two young girls complaining about their job , she heated in the microwave and then tossed it back and said there is your potato’s , no sorry or I’ll get you more chili , nothing but cold rude Young staff who haven’t got a clue how to talk to people Meal type: Lunch Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

We visited the Kiosk multiple times during our week stay in Matlock. We used Matlock as our 'base' for exploring the Peak District and we sampled their breakfast choices when grabbing an early meal and their lunch menus when returning from our days out. Although we didn't try every item on the menu, the chip butties and bacon cobs were our favourites (Best Bacon ever!). The outdoor seating is kept nice and clean and provides a nice view of the river. Duck food was on sale for a good price too so we fed the ducks/swans/seagulls! from their private dining area. Pupperchinos were also available! Food and dining aside, the real highlights of our visits were the staff. Parking: The Riverside Kiosk is handily located next to a car park. Kid-friendliness: The staff at the Kiosk were incredibly patient and accommodating with us during our stay in Matlock. Service: Dine in Meal type: Breakfast Price per person: £1–10
