I had one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever encountered at this venue. My group of nine arrived for a booking that had been confirmed by email and discussed over several phone calls. Despite this, we were immediately told that no booking existed. Rather than attempting to resolve the situation professionally, the person who introduced herself as the General Manager spoke to us with unnecessary hostility and complete disrespect. Her attitude throughout the interaction was dismissive, confrontational, and entirely inappropriate for someone in a management position. At one point, while making what appeared to be a sarcastic remark, she said, "Whatever's easier for you," before effectively telling us to go home. We took her advice and left. It's particularly disappointing because our group would have brought significant business to what was, at the time, a largely empty venue. Instead of welcoming paying customers or making any effort to find a solution, we were made to feel as though our presence was an inconvenience. The claim that there is no Area or Operations Manager overseeing this venue is also concerning, as the standard of leadership we experienced was completely unacceptable. If this is how customers are treated, I cannot recommend this venue. There are plenty of places that value their customers and know how to provide basic standards of hospitality. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise others to spend their time and money elsewhere. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Hi Jacob, I’m so sorry that you had such a bad experience the other day. We of course are looking into this thoroughly as this is far from the customer service experience that we would wish to offer. Would you be so kind as to let me know what date your booking was for and under whose name it was booked too? We can then see which member of staff was working and progress from there. I live round the corner from this pub and have used it many times over the years. Mainly on Sundays for their amazing roast. Popped in on Monday 15/12 for a quick lunch. However the only person on duty was serving drinks to a queue of about 4 people. We didn’t know whether to go straight to a table or wait. After 5 minutes we just went to a table. Then couldn’t find any menus. Finally found them in separate bits at the end of the bar. Then ordered food and drinks after about 25 minutes. Another 15 minutes for the food to arrive by the same lovely lady serving drinks at the bar! Food was delicious but allow more time than a standard work lunch hour. I think it would have been a better experience with an extra member of staff greeting you at the door (or maybe a sign stating no table service today - order food and drinks at the bar - sit where you like). However will always return to the Stoneham as their Roasts and Pizzas are delicious! Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
