Charged £130 for food and drinks for three people. The place was empty, I can see why, extortionate prices and average food. The toilets had druggy bags in and a broken overfilled urinal, only one soap dispenser worked. A service charge was added, although we were the only ones being served. Save your time and get a takeaway on the way home. London prices for a sub par west midlands pub. (Edit; Just got back home and my family member is now throwing up from the food, avoid at all costs.) (Further edit after owner response). I’m not going to entertain a lot of what you have said as it is very petty. You did not have the drinks prices listed, the service charge was also not listed. You couldn’t provide a proper receipt, only handwriting. I do agree that the prices were listed for the food, however this does not change the fact that they are ‘extortionately’ priced. How was I to know to take a picture of used drug bags, or of an overfilled and broken urinal, or of empty soap dispensers? Why would I want to populate my gallery with this.. I understand you being upset about the truth of your establishment, but it is not necessary at all to bring race into the conversation. This is a unbacked assumption, which I can only say is because of our own skin colour. This is not how you reply to customers or anyone. Yes we payed, and we would like to leave our own experience at that. However this does not prevent us from leaving reviews so others know what to expect. I don’t appreciate you taking no accountability or having any empathy for the effects of your food. Both of my parents were in dietary pain and like I say, one was throwing up without help. I don’t think I need to explain this further as it’s graphic and personal. Please take better care in future with your customers and your food, then you might see more people coming into your establishment. I have reported you to your local council Environmental Health / Food Safety team. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1 Price per person: £40–50

£130 for three people was the total bill for food AND drinks all ordered from a menu with the prices clearly displayed. Nobody was forced to order anything, so calling the bill “extortionate” after knowingly ordering at those prices is rather ridiculous.Whether the restaurant happened to be quiet at the time of your visit is completely irrelevant. Restaurants have busy periods and quiet periods, just like every other hospitality business.Your reference to “druggy bags” is an extremely serious allegation. If you are claiming that drugs were present on our premises, then provide evidence rather than throwing reckless insinuations into a public review. As for the dramatic edit claiming that a family member was “throwing up from the food” becoming sick after eating somewhere does not magically prove that the restaurant caused it. Food poisoning requires proper investigation, not a conclusion reached from the journey home. If you genuinely believe our food caused an illness, provide us with the date, time, receipt, dishes consumed and details of the alleged illness so that it can be formally investigated.Interestingly, despite describing the premises, toilets and food in such extreme terms, none of these supposedly serious concerns appear to have prevented you from ordering, eating, drinking and paying for your meal.We welcome genuine criticism and will investigate legitimate complaints. What we will not accept is speculation being presented publicly as fact simply because somebody decided afterwards that they didn’t like the price or that it ran and owned by Indian People.

One of my old haunts, but wow and yikes how its gone down the pan. Nice enough bloke running it, but running it at London prices, only one couple other than us there, and they just had drinks.. nearly £80 for mains, nearly £40 on drinks..@ £8.00 pint, £7.00 bottle of cider and £4.50 for can of coke!! Then a service charge of 15%.. unfortunately I couldn't eat my food as really spicy and had to spit it out as at one point as I was going to be sick. Hubby was feeling sick all way home, just made it back and has been throwing up since getting home, I unfortunately had the other problem and have spent the evening on loo since returning from there. Maybe environmental need to pop and check.. and I'd check loos too as these were rank! If you like spicy, high priced food, in a dead atmosphere then go, but if you want a good curry for average Wolverhampton prices avoid. Sad to say another good pub gone down the pan! Update and response.. Whilst we cannot say if it was the food that caused our ailments, we had not eaten anywhere else that day so as it happened within hour of leaving that's where our theory came from.. also if food is good we don't mind paying premium prices, we dine out alot and nice places, however if we had looked at reviews for the wheatsheaf before popping in we would not have bothered. We was not given a bill to check! Your systems were down, only after asking were we shown your scribble on paper of our food and drinks order. As for your remark accusing us of being racists, we'll that is slanderous in itself and very untrue.. we were nothing but polite to you, and have stated nothing that wasn't true. You refer to another review as 'because your Indian', and so what, you are as English as we are.. that i am afraid is your insecurities, and pulling out the good old racist card. I can see from previous reviews you are quite an argumentative person, your reply affirmed other people's remarks. Not a bother.. its a free country! Food: 2 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 1 Price per person: £30–40 Recommendation for vegetarians: Somewhat recommend Vegetarian options: Remember 15% service charge will be added to your overpriced food and drink bill Parking space: Plenty of parking Parking options: Free of charge parking lot

Firstly, every single price you have quoted was clearly displayed before you ordered. You voluntarily ordered your meals and drinks knowing exactly what they cost. Deciding afterwards that you don’t like the prices does not make them dishonest or “extortionate”.You also appear extremely concerned with how many other customers were present. Whether there were two customers or twenty customers in the building at that particular moment has absolutely nothing to do with the quality or safety of the food you were served. As for your food being “really spicy” you visited an Indian restaurant and ordered from a menu containing dishes with different spice levels. If something was too spicy for your personal taste, you could simply have told a member of staff and given us the opportunity to resolve it. Personal tolerance to spice is not a food-quality issue. The most serious part of your review is your suggestion that our food caused vomiting and diarrhoea. Feeling unwell after eating somewhere does NOT establish that the last meal consumed was responsible. Foodborne illness can have numerous causes and different incubation periods. If you genuinely believe our food caused illness, we would expect you to report the details properly so they can be investigated rather than diagnose the cause yourself in a Google review. You are also completely entitled to contact Environmental Health. In fact, if you genuinely believe there is a food-safety issue, we would encourage you to do so. We have nothing to hide and would cooperate fully with any legitimate inspection. As for the service charge, this was shown on your bill and could have been queried with staff at the time however you agreed to pay it. It’s particularly disappointing that you describe this as “one of my old haunts” yet choose to publicly declare that the business has “gone down the pan” based on one visit, while making serious claims about illness without establishing what actually caused it.Criticise our prices. Criticise the atmosphere. Tell people the curry was too spicy for you. Those are your opinions and you’re entitled to them. But implying that an Indian ran business made you and your husband ill is a serious allegation and quite frankly racist, and serious allegations require more than “we ate there and later felt sick.”
