We are locals and went for a drink on a Sunday afternoon. We sat outside as usual. As my husband has a bad hip we always make sure we can get a seat before buying a drink. Half way through our drink a member of staff came out and asked us to move saying the table was reserved for people eating and brought some other people to our table. There was no reserve sign on the table or cutlery laid out. If it was a mistake, fair enough, but it should have been acknowledged. If this is how the new manager does business, this is not good. They are happy to take your money if you are only buying a drink, but will kick you out after buying the drink if people want to buy food and they can make more money.

Was recommended by our Air BnB host. I loved that it hasn’t lost its charm or heart despite the popularity. It’s a welcoming untouched local pub that happens to serve fab grub with great views. Thanks for a lovely evening. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: £30–40 Parking space: Plenty of parking

The Woolpack Inn: Food was delicious and the pub itself is still a great spot for a special occasion. However, our visit was spoiled by the behaviour of the bar manager on duty. He repeatedly made loud, rude, and snide comments about other customers / fellow staff while we were trying to enjoy our meal. We literally saw other punters roll their eyes, finish-up then leave because of this. Constant negative gossip created an uncomfortable and unpleasant atmosphere for everyone, especially for us as it was a birthday celebration where we had spent quite a bit of money and just wanted to enjoy a relaxed occasion! Hopefully management can improve the front-of-house standards so future visitors don't have the same experience (sadly, we have been put off so won't be returning). Best wishes!
