The Three Tuns is a mixed bag. The look and the decor inside is very nice. And the atmosphere the night I went in, when an open mic night was occurring, very good. The one thing that ruined my experience was the manner in which I was served at the bar. A blonde lady, possible called Beryl, or Sharon, or Irene, gave me a look as if to say, WHAT DO YOU WANT ? No greeting, no Yes please, not even a What can I get cha mush ! ? Nowt. Nunk. Not a sausage ! Just a look in my direction and a miserable face. Then when she'd poured my drink she said £2.70. No please and not a thank you when handing me my change ? It's probably only a very small thing, and perhaps would not matter to a lot of people, but I feel manners cost nothing. And in a job where you are serving the public, a cheerful demeanor is an asset. When I worked in retail, many decades ago, my customer service skills were top notch and unparalleled. Customer's would ask where I was, if it were my day off or having my lunch break. I was a credit to the small business emporium, and a jewel in the crown of The British Empire and all her colonies ! !! ?? It definitely wasn't me that started the fire.
