We visited Torwirtschaft Restaurant for lunch on our last day in Dresden and enjoyed an excellent Tarte Flambée. Unfortunately, the service did not match the quality of the food. Despite only a few guests inside and two people on the terrace, we waited almost 15 minutes before we saw staff. The blonde-haired waitress walked past us smiling but did not bring menus. I went inside to request them myself, where a dark haired waitress standing behind the counter handed them over instead of bringing them to our table. Throughout our meal, neither waitress checked on us or any other guests. We had long finished when the blonde waitress appeared, and we asked to pay. She walked away without clearing our plates, and again we were left waiting. We eventually found the dark haired waitress sitting on the entrance steps smoking. There was no apology, no thank you for the tip, and overall a complete absence of communication. We have never experienced such untrained, inattentive and unprofessional service. It is a real shame, since the kitchen delivers quality, while the service staff undermines the work. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: €30–40 Food: 5 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 5
