Usually take my mum out on a Sunday teatime or another day . Thought let's try twa dogs as parking ample .and easy access . They were very accommodating and the food was excellent . We will come again . Thank you.. Service: 5

We approached the Twa Dogs Inn after 11pm on Saturday 6th June. The outside lights were on, the bar and inside of the pub was fully lit, and a table of 4 people could clearly be seen through open blinds. I entered the Twa Dogs at 23:13 exactly, as I didn't have the specific opening times to this establishment to hand, and the appearance of the pub was one of a place that was open. The door opened without issue. As I entered the bar area the words "for 'effs' sake" and "just 'eff' off" (obviously a swear word was use but i cant type that) were clearly audible, both phrases spoken by the same male voice. I would assume these terms were directed at me, a potential customer, innocently entering a pub that blatantly appeared to be opened. I refer you again to the open blinds and lights all being on. Very very poor. A quick "We're closed" would have sufficed. Or maybe closing the blinds so people could not see anyone inside, or, I dont know, maybe turning the outside lights off, or even locking the front door? Something common sense would suggest that the place is closed. Maybe its just me. I prefer visual indicators, or locked doors rather than being sworn at. This is very disappointing considering we had a lovely experience there earlier in the day, and the lady behind the bar was running the show seamlessly. I'd say her being so welcoming was the reason we thought to try and pop back, but the bloke who thought expletives were acceptable is the reason we won't be back.

We stopped at Twa Dog by chance following a long walk! Luckily we got a table! The service was fantastic and the staff accommodated well for my 5 and 7 year old. Food was delicious, in fact, it was the best roast dinner I have had for a long time!! I had turkey and my husband had lamb! 10/10! It’s a shame we live so far away but if we are ever in the area again, we will be back! Thank you! Service: 5
