Pay a visit to York and so lucky to go to this restaurant and try the authentic Hong Kong style food. I have tried the fried chicken wings, roasted ducks, roasted pork belly, fried rice and fried noodles, all the food was so delicious. I would like to say, the beef stir fried rice noodles is the best I have ever had. Also the owner is very nice and chats to us when he isn’t busy. I highly recommend everyone to try it. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £20–30

叉燒飯的肉很難吃 份量很少， 乾炒牛河份量都是很少 奶茶冇奶茶味道 收費貴 而且只收現金 其實食物差都不緊要 對客人服務態度差 而且客人走了在其他客面前說客人的壞話 感覺很差 The char siu rice was very disappointing—the meat was tough and unpleasant, and the portion was quite small. The stir-fried beef ho fun also came in a very small portion. The milk tea didn’t taste like proper milk tea at all. The prices are high, and they only accept cash. Honestly, even if the food quality isn’t great, that can sometimes be overlooked. However, the service attitude was poor. What made it worse was that after customers left, the staff spoke badly about them in front of other diners, which felt very uncomfortable. Overall, it was a very unpleasant experience. I came to Upper River Restaurant with high expectations because of the rave reviews by the Asians who came before me. I was not disappointed. I spent 3 weeks in the UK, ate at 2- and 3-star Michelin restaurants (Asian and Western), but nothing came close to Upper River Restaurant. This was the best meal I had by a country mile. PSA: A must-try for all Asians who visit York. We had (1) fried hor fun, (2) fried rice with duck, (3) wanton soup, and (4) milk tea.
