Really enjoy visiting The Waterloo Inn. It has that perfect countryside village pub atmosphere, whether you’re stopping in for a family meal, relaxing in the beer garden on a summer afternoon, or sitting beside the open fire on a winter evening. The food is always very tasty and clearly made with care. Portions might not be as enormous as some places, but the quality more than makes up for it and it feels a step above typical pub food without ever feeling pretentious. Service is consistently excellent too. The staff are friendly, welcoming and always make you feel at home. There’s a good range of beers at reasonable prices, and the homemade gin from the proprietor is absolutely fantastic, with loads of different flavours to try and surprisingly reasonable prices. It’s also a great place for families. There’s a playground very close by, and the pub itself has a selection of children’s games and board games available, which is a really nice touch for keeping everyone entertained. They also put on a great variety of events throughout the year, from quiz nights and themed evenings to gin tastings and cocktail making, and in summer there are often family-friendly touches like bouncy castles. All round, just a brilliant local pub with a genuinely warm atmosphere. Such a lovely warm welcome here. We attended for a distillery class and everyone was so friendly. Food and drinks were fantastic and we look forward to seeing how this pub expands with their exciting plans. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
