Appalling experience. At the entrance, an aggressive, rude security guard began shouting at us and demanded to inspect our duty-free bag. When we showed him that it contained nothing more than two bottles of alcohol, still sealed in their official duty-free packaging, he responded in an abusive and dismissive manner and refused us entry. After a five-hour flight delay, we stopped at The Standing Order for a meal, as we often do when passing through Edinburgh. Unfortunately, this was the worst experience we’ve had there. We were not the only ones subjected to this treatment — a group of young women who arrived shortly after us were spoken to just as rudely, suggesting this was not an isolated incident but a pattern of poor conduct from this primitive. Given this experience, we will not be returning. We would much rather take our custom elsewhere than be subjected to such hostility. Service: 1
