Nice restaurant and staff were pleasant however the food was sub standard. I had the Scotch Egg in Black Pudding unfortunately it was very dry, hard as a rock and very bland so I sent it back and asked for it to be removed from order. I was hoping the things might change with the main, unfortunately not. I had the Steak and Ale Pie, I found it over seasoned too salty and the beef was dry and tasteless. I think Chef Mike (microwave) may have been in the kitchen that day. Not happy paying good hard earned money for a sub standard meal. Price per person: £30–40 Food: 2 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

We went for a Sunday roast and weren't disappointed. The food was well cooked and a great portion size. The food was elevated by the beautiful characterful building. A hidden gem. Price per person: £20–30

The Wheatsheaf Inn has always been a very popular pub. I have enjoyed a drink there with friends many times over the years. It tends to be busiest on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights but has is a typical village pub with a long history and oldie worldly style. Atmosphere is warm and welcoming, staff are friendly and lighting is sudued. Beers and ciders on offer are great, so you can really relax and enjoy a pint or two, for example. Outside in the summer especially due The Wheatsheaf Inn's location you certainly know you are visiting one of the best pubs in the Wirral countryside. Highly recommended.
