Pop in every now again for a quick drink and sometimes a light snack. Staff always friendly and welcoming. Will continue to visit. Price per person: £1–10

Visited this lovely pub today. Called in advance to see when the kitchen closed for a late lunch but didn't confirm if we were coming or not as we were on a bus buddies afternoon out. We arrived with 10 minutes to closing and the kitchen were on standby for us. The sheltered tables were just right for us. We ordered a selection of starters and Caesar salad, all were amazing, the salad was a piece of art on its own. The crockery and glass wear were also pretty. Scissors in the sauce packet pot! Amazing idea. It was quiet when we arrived so we enjoyed a few drinks and soaked up the Alfriston'esk atmosphere. The bar was full of people when we left and the atmosphere was warm. We wandered around the quaint streets and allys admiring the stunning homes, returning to the pub for a cheeky bathroom break and kindly provided cool water. We finished our adventure off with a quiet sit in the pretty churchyard. Such a simple but pleasant and refreshing way to spend the afternoon. Highly recommend. Price per person: £30–40

Outstanding. Our welcome and service throughout was outstanding. Our waitress was brilliant, she was helpful, attentive and offered us excellent customer service. Our food was delicious & we asked for our compliments to be passed to the chef which our waitress did. We had the pie of the day & the local ham, egg and chips, all meals were delicious & every plate was clean. We sat outside as it was very warm & the owner couldn't have been more hospitable. We were greeted with a very warm welcome, an apology about the noise as the seating area across the road from the pub was being cleaned but this did not affect us at all. The outside space is very good, plenty of room between tables & some cover if you don't want to sit in the sun. We shall definitely return & will bring friends to enjoy the Wheatsheaf Inn, thank you. Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Price per person: £30–40 Recommendation for vegetarians: Not sure Parking space: Not sure Parking options: Free of charge street parking
