We completely understand that price increases are something customers are very conscious of at the moment; however, we would just like to clarify that the information in your review isn’t quite correct.We think you may possibly have seen one of our older menus, as the price of our gammon steak throughout 2026 has been £17.95, served with a choice of either egg or pineapple. Our new dish has been upgraded and is now £19.00, meaning the actual increase from our 2026 price is £1.05, rather than nearly £5.The new dish includes both fresh British farm eggs and fresh pineapple, rather than tinned pineapple, and most importantly, the gammon itself is produced from our own home-reared Haines Hogs, giving us complete confidence in the provenance and quality of the meat we serve.We work extremely hard to balance quality, portion size and value, and certainly don’t believe that simply increasing profit at the expense of our customers is the way to run our pub.We’re sorry that the misunderstanding over the price has put you off booking, but we would genuinely encourage you to come and try the new dish.
