We stayed here on 12th June after completing The Yorkshire Wolds Way. Lovely hotel great food, fabulous room with balcony. Hotel receptionists were both friendly & helpful. The only thing that let the stay down a little was a couple of hiccups with restaurant service & a slight fly issue in the restaurant/ food areas which I am sure could be easily dealt with.

We're regular visitors to Filey but usually stay in an apartment because I like a sea view and prefer to be on the seafront. Unfortunately there are no hotels on the actual seafront in Filey. Decided to try this for a change as we only wanted a short stay. Parked across the road free unlimited parking though it gets busy. Lovely warm welcome from reception on arrival I booked a sea view room with a balcony. The room was light and very tastefully decorated with a big bathroom containing a bath with shower over and nice toiletries. Unusual not to get bathrobes in a hotel at this price range. Plenty of sockets including USB sockets. Kettle, tea and coffee. The balcony was large with a table and chairs which we used a lot because we were lucky with the weather. Fabulous view but in need of some tlc and more comfortable furniture. It was also tricky to access as there was a notice telling you not to stand on the step, not sure why but assumed it was fragile. I'm reasonably fit but it was very awkward to try and step over the step and someone less agile might fall. Breakfast was in a large room with plenty of space. Super efficient service. Cereals, fruit, yogurts, toast and a choice of cooked breakfasts. Personally, I don't like a fried breakfast and would love some fresh crusty bread but they only had sliced. We didn't eat dinner, plenty of restaurants in Filey but remember to book before you travel. What would improve it? A fan, face flannels and bathrobes. A mini fridge. Crusty bread rolls for those who don’t want a cooked breakfast. Will definitely return. If the weather is good the balcony rooms are a must. Service: 5

We have stayed at the White Lodge many times since seeing it on Four on a bed. All good as usual but could do with a lick of paint in entrance. Also stayed 2 nights and had to ask for clean towels on second day which was quite unusual due to their high standard. Also no pillow protectors on some pillows. Otherwise great hotel,fab food and lovely staff.
