When this place first opened I was so impressed. The staff were friendly and enthusiastic, the fries were fantastic (they used mccains). It was my “go to” for fried chicken! I don’t know what happened but I feel like the business has changed hands several times because the fries are cheap and awful, the food just gets worse with each visit along with being more expensive. The staff show no passion, enthusiasm, or friendliness. The food tonight was horrendous. We bought the wickid platter. The burgers were worryingly tasteless aside from the mayonnaise. I could smell a strange aroma emanating from the bag - kind of a sweet smell. I discovered that this smell came from the box of fried chicken. I can only assume it’s the oil they cooked it in because the actual chicken was tasteless and the breading just fell apart. It was so hard to tell the difference between the different flavours and we gave up eating it. It’s so sad to see food like this produced because it’s a waste. Inedible means it’s a waste of money and a waste of food - not to mention a waste of time. Did I mention it took 40 mins to arrive from the kitchen?!? I could have breaded and fried the chicken myself in 20mins! Wickid Chicken owners I am a big supporter of small business but you need to step up your game BIG time if you want to stay open during hard economic times. Choose your ingredients carefully because something is failing. That smell should not be there - it was so intense it gave me a headache.
