This place is rather busy on a Sunday morning with a short queue, but the atmosphere is lively and cozy. Eggs Royale - the sourdough bread is chewy and soft in the inside, and the poached eggs cooked at the perfect texture. Coffee is strong and quite bitter at this cafe. Price per person: £10–20 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

I visited this café for brunch with my husband and overall had a lovely experience. It’s a really nice spot with a great atmosphere. I ordered the smashed avocado on toast with a poached egg and a side of halloumi, while my husband had the eggs benedict with a side of bacon. The food was very tasty and well presented. The only downside was the service. I had requested a well-done poached egg, but there was a mix-up, although to their credit they quickly remade it. Unfortunately, this did mean a bit of a wait. There was also an issue with my husband’s order being missed, so my food arrived and was finished before his came out I had to remind the staff. That said, the team were apologetic and resolved everything, which we appreciated. Overall, it’s a place I would recommend and return to just with the hope that the service is a bit more polished next time. Price per person: £20–30 Food: 5 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4

Try as we might to get things spot on every time, sometimes things do go wrong but great to hear the team dealt with it quickly. We decided to try a new cafe to have breakfast and we went for windowbox cafe as the reviews we saw were fair and good. I ordered the garden breakfast (I believe it was) and it was very tasty. Although, the sour dough bread was hard. We also ordered the 5 stack Pancakes with bacon and berries which was lovely (presentation was really good) disappointed there was no sausages and not a full English. My partner ordered the halloumi stack. The bacon was over done (burnt) however the overall dish was OK-a bit bland. The juice we ordered was the pear juice which was 10/10 . The only downside we had was the cutlery and glass cup. The forks were dirty. We could see the grime and build-up in the fork tines. The glass had lipstick on it and stains around the rim. We asked for clean forks and the staff member was very rude and told us that all the knifes and forks go through a steamer (very arrogant) it seemed as if he didn't agree with our complaint and was hesitant to provide us with new clean forks. Nevertheless staff did, but again we could see marks and build-up of old food, so I decided to eat my breakfast with a spoon that I already used with my Americano. The staff memebr had asked all customers around the area we were sat, if their food was OK, but did not ask us. Overall, the food was average and the atmosphere was a nice and chilll café.
