Came here because they advertise both "eat in" and "takeaway." However, when we asked for a table for two, they couldn't even provide two chairs. Instead, we were offered a stool and told that was all they could do. Even though we were eating in, our food was handed to us in a takeaway bag rather than served on a tray. We ordered wings, and by the time we got them, they were already on the verge of turning cold. If your dine-in facilities are very limited, it would be helpful to make that clear rather than advertising an eat-in option that can't comfortably accommodate customers. The experience at Wingtrapp Coventry was wholly unacceptable and raises serious concerns regarding food safety and operational standards. Our order resulted in six adults becoming unwell, which is a matter that warrants immediate attention and potential escalation to the Food Standards Agency for investigation. The food provided was far below any reasonable standard: the chips were stale and soggy, and both the chicken wings and burger were served lukewarm, indicating possible breaches of food hygiene requirements. Such conditions present a clear risk to public health. Given the severity of the issues encountered, the franchise owners should urgently review staff conduct, address any failures in food preparation and hygiene, and consider a full retraining or replacement of the current team. The current operation reflects poorly on the Wingtrapp brand and exposes it to significant reputational and regulatory consequences. We chose to order based on positive feedback about the wider brand, yet the outcome was deeply regrettable. Thankfully, none of the food was given to our children, as the consequences could have been far more serious. This establishment, in its current state, is not fit for purpose, and the issues observed merit formal scrutiny. The situation represents a substantial failure in duty of care to customers and a serious risk to public health.
