Excellent surprise today for a quick lunch in this restaurant. The food was superb, the service was friendly and warm. I will definitely come back and try more dishes. Order type: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: £1–10

We had the vegan lunch deal today plus gotukola sambol which was excellent - fresh and just like it was home cooked! The warmed butter cake is also delicious. Not particularly impressed by the watalappan but it seems to sell out. The service is always friendly, helpful and attentive. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

Had heard about YAKO from friends, and finally visited today — absolutely loved the food! The restaurant is in a very convenient location in Harrow town centre, near St Ann’s Road and opposite Barclays Bank. We tried the mutton roll first, and honestly for just around £1, it was unbelievably delicious — crispy outside with perfectly spiced mutton filling inside. The fish & egg triangle was also very tasty and worth the £1.50, but the mutton roll was definitely my favourite. The highlight of the meal was the mixed Lamprais, which was around £15. Such an authentic Sri Lankan dish! The rice cooked in chicken broth had so much flavour, and it came with aubergine, jackfruit curry, chicken, lamb, and a delicious shrimp paste on top. Everything tasted fresh, rich, and homemade. What made the experience even better was the hospitality. The owner and staff were extremely kind and took the time to explain the dishes to us, which we really appreciated. The restaurant was also very clean and welcoming. Overall, a wonderful experience with authentic Sri Lankan flavours at very reasonable prices. I would highly recommend YAKO to everyone. Definitely coming back again soon to try more dishes!
