I only found out about Yakov's Kitchen from a TikTok video. It looked interesting and significantly different for me to try it out. Unless you live locally, you need a car to get there - it's not near any underground stations - located in a small parade of shops in suburban Edgware, north London. Yakov's Kitchen is bright and new looking (I think it's only been in existence for 2 years), and has a couple of commercial refrigerated units along the left wall, with packaged deli items and drinks, and the main counter with a large selection of heatable food, from pulled beef and chicken to veg, mash and potatoes. In the middle is a table with their interesting Chanukah doughnuts and latkas. The doughnuts are definitely not the norm... Stuffed with a selection of meats including pulled beef, salt beef, chicken liver parfait with a brulee top. I opted for the schnitzel latka doughnut served with sweet chilli sauce. I have to be honest, it was delicious, although it was much smaller in the flesh than the tiktok video! For the size, it was also quite pricey (hence the 4 stars)... But it was delicious and I could've given 5 stars. I would definitely eat it again. Service was superb (5 stars all the way) provided by a very helpful and friendly young lady. I went at lunchtime, and other than a couple of other shoppers who bought food and took it away, the restaurant was empty - so it was hard to give 5 stars for atmosphere, but I could imagine when it is busy, it's probably buzzing!!
