Given this price ($115+tax+ compulsory 20% gratuity), I must confess that I expected a fine-dining like experience. I appreciate the chef experimenting creative ideas of infusing foreign cuisines into Chinese dishes. Sadly, my Asian taste was stubborn and could not find the dishes enjoyable. The ingredients were not complementing with each other. For example, in my opinion, Cha Siu Bao never goes well with western style pickle. The chef and staff were not considerate and simply stated the name of the dish and left. I expected more when a compulsory tip was charged. The presentation of the dishes were good though. All in all, the experience fell short of my expectation. Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4 Price per person: CA$100+

Celebrated a friend's birthday at Yan Dining Room by Chef Eva. It is located inside Hong Shing Restaurant in a private room. Everything was booked and pre-paid online including gratuity. Additional drinks can be purchased day-of. The experience was lovely. Birthday girl got a free bubbly, a birthday bun with a candle, and good treats at the end. All the dishes are bite size, and beautifully presented. I enjoyed the nostalgic Chinese representation in some of the dishes like the 1000 yo egg sauce! It was a fun culinary journey :))) Though some dishes may be on the saltier side, nonetheless, the flavour combinations of ingredients were still amazing.
