Brilliant little local, honest value, full of flavour and good portion sizes. Never skimp on seasoning nor quality. The salt and pepper chips are a stand out, along side the classic curry dishes. Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I have been to Yan's place a lot of times over the past 12 years. It has been my go-to Chinese ever since. I've been to top-rated Chinatown restaurants in both London and Manchester, and Yan's place is just as good, and some of their dishes are better than I've ever had.My go-to order is crispy (deep fried) salt-and-pepper beef, salt-and-pepper deep-fried tofu (bean curd), beef with green peppers and onion, and as sides, an order of stir-fried noodles with chilli, (which come with onion and beansprouts), prawn toast, and an order of egg-fried rice.This Chinese is better than any other in the area, even Maxi's in Nether Poppleton (near Clifton Moor). It is absolutely delicious.I have been to China twice, and even though the popular dishes they serve there are different there compared to here, Yan's Place is still a 10/10 for me.Kind people, food at a great value, and it's absolutely delicious.Although, I have to say that you should order the right dishes. Some dishes aren't nearly as good as others, so I would stick with traditional Chinese dishes, along with the food I recommended you get.Ask the Chinese chefs what their favourite dishes are to make for themselves, and you'll love them.10/10. Food is amazing, the people are friendly, the place is clean, and after you taste their food, you'll want to go back for more and more.I would wholeheartedly recommend Yan's Place.
