I came here for the afternoon tea and was impressed by the quality and presentation of the food and tea. This is a quaint family owned spot that has a comfortable atmosphere and great service. We started with the chickpea salad which was just okay, I felt it didn’t quite pair with the rest of the afternoon tea. The oolong and black earl grey tea we got on the other hand was fragrant and delicious. The savoury bites were very tasty, I particularly enjoyed the salmon sandwich and mushroom puff pastry. The highlight of my dining experience were the scones which were phenomenal. I tried the regular butter scone, the cranberry orange and the blueberry scone and they were all rich, buttery and perfectly crumbly. They paired really well with the clotted cream and the jam and I would say this place is definitely worth checking out for these scones. The desserts included a date cake, brownie square and macarons. I really enjoyed the date square and the brownie but thought the macarons were mediocre. Overall, I would say the afternoon tea is great for the price point and will definitely be coming back! Meal type: Other Price per person: CA$50–60 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

I am writing this review on behalf of my mother Christine. We used T-buds as our catering for a bridal shower, and it was fantastic. We were able to place the order online, and communicate via email. The ladies we were dealing with were lovely, and very helpful throughout the process. We ordered a variety of sandwiches which were all delicious. The chicken parmesan pastries stood out. The scones with jam & cream mascarpone were to die for. We picked up the food the night before, it was all packaged well. The food remained fresh into the following day, and our guests were very impressed with the quality of the food served. I would highly recommend T-buds for any large gatherings, and cannot wait to experience their in-store offerings in the near future. Meal type: Other Price per person: CA$20–30 Food: 5 Service: 4 Dietary restrictions: One of our guests was gluten & dairy intolerant. They created a box of items especially for our guest.

Sorry, but I have to give a low rating based on my experience. I’m sure that if had gone under a different circumstance then, it would’ve been different, so I’m basing it off of the one and done time I’ve been. So I came across this high tea spot one morning and thought to see if they had an opening for a vegetarian experience, so I called. I was aware that they needed a few days notice, but sometimes people cancel. I stated my dietary restrictions multiple times including that I cannot eat eggs and I can have milk products, the person said that they would check with the kitchen. I waited and the person came back and said that they could take my reservation. I was super excited and we went right away because they gave us an early slot. We sat down, we picked our tea and they said that they would get the platter ready. Out came a little appetizer - we were off to a good start. Then the platter came. I immediately noticed the macarons, they are typically made with eggs but you can make an eggless one with Aquafaba. So, I double checked. The server said it was eggless and I was ready to dig in. As I was going to dig in, the server came and stopped me saying that it had eggs. So the platter was taken away. The chef came out and started blaming us for coming and not giving an earlier notice and stated that we had confused her with our dietary restrictions then she was telling us how to order at a restaurant. I told her I never had this problem before and I called in advance. Why did they take the reservation and tell us to come in if they couldn’t accommodate?!? They could’ve easily said no. She still seemed mad and we got a new platter. It had a notably less amount of itemsit was decent but not worth the price considering that things were removed and not replaced. You can notice it in the photos here. The server didn’t talk to us again and we were given a new server that started to ignore us. So, at the end we paid but felt awkwardthere was no sort of reduced payment nothing extra to rectify the situation. Not a good experience. The decor was nice though, they have some high quality tea sets and the teas itself were tasty. It’s a nice quiet tea spot to visit with family and friends. Price per person: CA$40–50 Food: 3 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 4

Hello Pre MT, so sorry to hear about your experience at t-buds. Just to clarify matters from our side, we gathered from your comments that you wanted a vegan option whilst we had you booked as a vegetarian with no egg. We try hard to cater to different dietary options and sometimes there is a bit of confusion in servers noting specific requests wrongly. We have spoken to the staff re. this matter and to be more careful in double checking with customers who have specific restrictions. Yes, the vegan option has fewer selections as egg is used in over 60% of our products. The price for the vegan option is also lower and you were charged the correct price. Trust this clarifies your situation and our position.
