All smiles on our first outing as a family to this lovely, newly done up pub. The food was perfect. It really was just how I like my pizza and its a great idea putting the hot honey as a side rather than drizzle it all over I have the option of how much I want. For my boy I ordered some chips and after they cooled down he loved them! JUBEL ON TAP!!! COMEEEE ONNNN over the moon with that and a pint coke for the Mrs. The cost maybe a bit costly, but saying that isn't everything these days, so who knows? Everyone was extremely friendly, we were really made to feel at home. Thanks guys a great start! We will be back for sure. Price per person: £30–40 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Avoid. This newly refurbished pub use to be superb, have been multiple times over the years but since the refurb its now a over priced pretentious gastro pub. We ordered starters. Soup was 5 mouthfuls. The prawn cocktail was tasteless, 2 mouthfuls and 2 massive lettuce leaves. The scotch egg was tasty but tiny. The mains took 1.15h to come out. Fish burnt and batter falling apart. Burger burnt, cheese burnt, bacon burnt. No crispy onions as stated on the menu, chips had been sitting as were rubbery. 1 of the party had to go up to the counter 3 times to ask for sauce. No apologies from the server, no food check backs. Dessert included with the kids meal never came. I understand they have just been refurbished, but there is no excuse for this. The manager finally spoke to us after saying he was to busy the 1st time. He stated to wait 4 weeks until they have a chef !! So my advice is if you dare go, dont go till they have someone that can cook. Vegetarian offerings: Clearly labeled vegetarian dishes

Hi BenI would like to start with an apology as we want everyone's visit to be a great one, since we have reopened from our beautiful refrub we have turned back in to a proper pub and not a gastro pub anymore so our service cycle has changed slightly as we are assisted service, we are in the middle of a transition period with our food offer and have listened to some of the feedback given to us since reopening, so things will be changing very soon your are correct our new head chef will be with us in around 4 weeks, i am sorry about the wait time and the quality issues with your food we where very busy on fathers day, the busiest it has been outside of Christmas so we are still all adjusting, this isn't an excuse and i do hope you give us another try in the future.All the bestMatt HardingGM

A friend and I had a lovely lunch at The Bell yesterday before heading off to Polesdon Lacey for a walk. Immie was very welcoming and attentive, and we thoroughly enjoyed our pie and vegan wellington, both were very tasty. A couple of glasses of a very nice Pinot Grigio went down very nicely too! With thanks to Jay and his tea,. keep up the good work, we'll be back in the Spring/Summer to try out the garden area with our dog.
