We were a party of 4 adults and were really disappointed with our visit. Unfortunately, the quality of the food fell well below expectations, with dishes that were a bit blah and no real veggie options except a cheese pie that wasn't a pie, the portions were good size but just lacking in something.... The restaurant’s decor also feels very dated and could really benefit from some attention and refurbishment. To make matters worse, there were flies around the dining area, which was unpleasant and made the experience feel far from hygienic especially when the waiter swotted one with his pad! Overall, the food quality, tired surroundings and presence of flies made for a disappointing experience. I expected much better especially as its far from cheap, based on this visit, would be unlikely to return. Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3

We visited the The Fleece Inn on Mother’s Day for Sunday lunch and dessert and had a really lovely experience. Despite it being a busy day, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming and the staff were friendly and attentive throughout. The Sunday lunch was great – generous portions and all the classic elements done really well. The meat was tender, the roast potatoes were crisp and fluffy, and the Yorkshire puddings were spot on. The vegetables were especially good, really fresh and perfectly cooked, which made the whole meal feel like a proper traditional Sunday roast. We also stayed for dessert, which was just as enjoyable and a perfect way to finish the meal. Overall it was a great place to celebrate Mother’s Day with delicious food, a cosy pub atmosphere and great service. We’d happily return again for another Sunday lunch.
