Newish to exeter .looked for best chinese and it came at either wans or four seasons.so i went for these as closer which now im regretting .possibly the blandest chinese i have ever had .previous reviews seemed good but something seems to of been lost in making of their food.passion ? care?? Cost cutting ?? i dont know .As the more expensive option out of the two was really hoping for good quality and was really disappointed . The vegetable chow mein watery and the smokey taste was missing, ( hard to get wrong you think but not here ) garlic chilli squid , dry no chunky bits of squid. its like they got a calamari ring and cut it 3 ways with barely any seasoning ..for almost 9 pounds come on !!! Then the szechuan tofu.....um where was the szechuan, again watery, no spice just vrry bland ..for 40s pounds for 5 items not cheap and really no flavour and not the biggest portions i would avoid thus place ...with takeaways so expensive and a treat now this place doesnt seem to care sbout their customers anymore only money. ..thats a shame Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2

We are sorry to hear that your meal didn't live up to your personal expectations, but we would love to clarify a few things regarding our dishes. First, our Vegetable Chow Mein is intentionally prepared in a traditional 'Saucy' style to keep the noodles smooth and flavorful, rather than the dry, smoky style. We understand everyone has different noodle preferences! Secondly, we take pride in our ingredients and can assure you that we use 100% authentic, squid for our garlic chilli dish, never cheap pre-formed calamari rings. Because we use whole squid, they naturally curl into rings when cooked, which might have caused the misunderstanding. Our sichuan is one of the best sale dishes good luck to you new journey in exeter

What happened? I had food from here before but tonight (Halloween) it was terrrible. It looked good and you could tell it was cooked fresh but our chow mien tasted of nothing (really watery, no flavour) and crispy chilli beef instead of sticky chilli sauce had some red goopy sauce, it looked like they have run out of chilli sauce and to make it go longer way added a LOT of ketchup and a bit of chilli spice. Not sticky, not sweet and spicy. Just chilli ketchup. We were so dissapointed as this was a treat but will go somewhere else next time as recently its a hit and miss and not worth a gamble. A shame.
