I rarely post substandard reviews, preferring to recognize better options than penalizing bad choices. However, I felt obligated to share my experience here because the fish and chips we ordered were well below minimum expectations. Despite calling in an order in advance and being told it would take 15 minutes, the order was put together when we arrived, pulling a fish filet from a heated case, and scooping fries from a steel bin. We found both the fish and the chips to be hard and stale. The batter on the fish, for example, could not be cut with a fork and barely cut with a knife. The chips were not crispy or tender...just tough. Unedible. Fortunately, we ordered some siu mai, which was also taken from the heated case but the texture and flavor was good. If I choose to eat here again, I will stick to the Asian dishes and avoid the fried options. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £10–20 Food: 2 Service: 4

Terrible, hardly any chips, gravy disgusting and overpriced. Much better found at other local takeaways. Won’t be going again.

I have always found the food to be of good quality, portion size just right and the price is very fair. The staff are welcoming and the speed of service even at very busy times is good. I have tried several other similar business's but I always return to George & Angela's.
