We didn't stay, we had a family wedding there. The place was lovely and a lovely place to have an Indian wedding.

I recently stayed at the Thornton Hall hotel & spa on the Wirral for three days to attend a wedding. The breakfast was cold, dry, unimaginative and vastly overpriced. The breakfast is worse than a beefeater at the Premier Inn - cold hard eggs, dry scrambled egg, a couple of pots of cheap yoghurt, dried out bacon... and non-existant staff, a total lack of customer service. Evening dinner was bland, plain, ordinary and vastly overpriced. After making a mistake with the order there was no attempt to apologise or recompense - a pervasive "take-it-or-leave-it" attitude by all staff across restaurants, bars, room service and house keeping. Drinks bar staff totally unhelpful - very poor selection of drinks - even worse selection of non-alcoholic drinks (think pump only syrup drinks) and a total "not-my-problem" and "deal-with-it" attitude across all staff at every level in every department. Quite honestly, the worst hotel I've ever stayed in my life.
