Bloody fantastic. Such a quirky place. The restaurant (it's the houses front room), is decorated with dark colours but the lighting makes it look so cosy and inviting. The girls looking after the guests were fab, happy and chatty. Matt was great, so welcoming and friendly. The kitchen is tiny, see the photos. It has a small, house kitchen cooker! Now, the food. Bloody delicious. The starters were gorgeous, tasty and interesting. The pork, rice and salad for the main was full of flavour with the lemongrass flavour making the meal shine. I'm not normally a dessert type of guy, but I am now. The chocolate dish was so rich, crunchy and sweet, more please! To sum up, what a fantastic experience. A monthly menu change. See you in September, October and so on. Thank you guys. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: £40–50

One would expect dining at a highly rated and sought after restaurant in Bruton with a monthly set menu to be a formal and rigid experience but Matt's place is quite the opposite. It is quaint, welcoming and full of personal touches. The food was great with a balance of delicately arranged starter and home-style main that you could just dig right in. The staff was friendly, helpful and Matt himself was a character full of passion and warmth. We particularly appreciated him sharing a glimpse of his amazing journey with us, giving us an opportunity to learn more about the backstory of this small but wonderful establishment. The only improvement I would suggest is that the building could use some fans/AC to get through the hotter days of the summer. Price per person: £40–50

Thank you so much for the review and I'm thrilled you enjoyed it.The 250 year old cottage is pretty cool already with the flag stone floors, thick walls and doors open to create a through draft but I'm sorry you still felt hot. If you had mentioned it I could have grabbed you a fan from upstairs!Matt

Fabulous, fabulous, fabulous! First time we had been to Matt's Kitchen and most definitely won't be our last. Matt is a wonderful host and such a creative chef. Every dish was sublime, with such a wonderful array of flavours and textures, and so beautifully presented. We will be back (especially when morcilla is on the menu )!
