First time visiting Stables Tavern. I ordered a Stables Tavern Lager, but they had run out and needed to change the barrel. That’s absolutely fine, but the male member of staff disappeared for over five minutes without saying a word or giving any indication of how long the wait would be. A simple “Sorry, I’ll be a few minutes” would have been enough. When he returned, he again said nothing, simply poured the pint and handed it over without any acknowledgement or apology for the wait. It made me feel as though ordering the main lager you sell was an inconvenience rather than a normal customer request. While I was drinking my pint, the female member of staff went into the disabled toilet while on her phone and carrying what appeared to be a vape. She remained in there long enough that a mother and her two daughters waited outside before eventually giving up and walking away. The customer service and consideration shown were disappointing. It’s a shame because the venue itself is lovely and the lager was excellent, but based on this experience I don’t see a reason to return. I’d suggest speaking to the staff involved, as this felt like a very avoidable poor experience. Price per person: £1–10 Service: 1

Came here for some drinks before a meal out with the family and was not disappointed! Great selection of draft beers, especially Asahi, and both staff were lovely in helping us choose from the crisp selection to go with the pint! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for some good drinks and good people. 5/5. Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
