Ordered a BBQ pork on rice combo with a drink, paid about $20 and change for it. It was decent flavour and came with veggies, but the amount of BBQ pork was a bit upsetting. Could get more for your value at T&T’s hot kitchen for $9.99 + tax. Cashier was super friendly and kind, but definitely 2/5 star rating for food alone. This place is underrated. Don't count on the reviews. Don't look at the likes. This gem has been here for over 28 years. Anytime I'm in the area, I hit up Sun's kitchen. It brings me back to my childhood years with my mom in Pacific mall. The only authentic Chinese food I've come across in Scarborough! Our go-to usually is combo #42 stir-fried spicy chicken and #53 Yang zhou fried rice Go and try it out! Price per person: CA$10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Dietary restrictions: They are careful when you have allergies.

This is one of my favourite food court vendors at Pacific Mall, especially if you’re craving classic Cantonese food. They offer a solid variety of Hong Kong–style dishes, and I usually dine in at the Pacific Mall food court rather than ordering takeout. Today, however, I decided to get takeout instead. I ordered the salted fish chicken fried rice and sweet and sour chicken (it’s traditionally pork, but I asked for chicken instead). The dish normally comes with a side of rice, but I opted for no extra rice and more chicken. The prices are very reasonable, and the staff are always friendly and accommodating. They accept cash or debit, and my order was ready in about 10 minutes, which is great for quick meals at Pacific Mall. When I got home, the salted fish chicken fried rice smelled incredibly fragrant, thanks to the salted fish, which is always a highlight for me. That said, the dish was a bit oilier than usual. The sweet and sour chicken portion was also smaller than expected, which was disappointing. I’m not sure if it was an off day or if the main chef wasn’t working, but the food didn’t feel like it was on their usual A-game. That said, based on many previous visits, dining in has consistently been excellent, with generous portions and better overall balance. This experience won’t stop me from coming back — I’ll just stick to eating at the food court instead of takeout next time. If you’re looking for affordable Cantonese food at Pacific Mall, especially Hong Kong–style fried rice and classic Chinese comfort dishes, this vendor is still worth trying — just better enjoyed fresh on-site.
