I had a really enjoyable visit to The Elephant Pub And Bakehouse. It has a cosy, welcoming atmosphere with a nice mix of traditional pub charm and a relaxed bakery feel. The food was fresh, tasty, and well prepared, and there was a good selection of drinks too. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the service was smooth throughout. A lovely place to grab some food and relax—I’d definitely come back again. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We went for breakfast and probably won’t be back. They got things wrong on our breakfasts, the food wasn’t fantastic and they charged us twice for the extras that we added on. For 6 of us it was around £110. I would say the sausages were the driest I had ever eaten, and the bacon felt like it had been cooked several times. Quite disappointed. Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4

My daughter and I came to the Elephant for a Sunday Roast, first of all we waited for half an hour before anyone even remotely were interested in asking us whether we needed a drink or food, nobody came so I went to the bar and purchased 2 glasses of wine and 2 waters for us, we waited again and in the end I stopped the waitress and told her we were ready to order, she wasn’t interested at all but placed the order for 2 beef Sunday roasts, we waited another 45 minutes and we had to ask if our order was coming we asked the lady who was greeting people, she really wasn’t interested either, so we asked the original waitress if our dinner was coming, it eventually came after 55 minutes, and I asked my daughter if her dinner was warm, she replied barely mum, I called the waitress over and told her that both dinners were cold and could she ask if the cook could warm it up, and she took my dinner, after only about 3 minutes she brought it back but it came without the Yorkshire pudding, I asked her where the Yorkshire pudding had gone, she laughed and went to the kitchen to get it, when she brought it back I started to eat my dinner, it was still cold and the meat was fatty and chewy, it looked like the chef had piled all the ends of the meat on my plate, it had fat running all the way through it and fat all on the ends, it looked horrible, I decided to eat the potatoes which were tasteless and bland, the one carrot was freezing and the mashed parsnip was covered with gravy, the whole dinner was disgusting, my daughters was equally bad, we called the waitress over again and I said can you tell the cook that that was awful and full of fat, she just looked at me, we asked for the bill and the waitress had not spoken to anyone about our comments and actually wanted to charge us the full price, my daughter went over to a manager and she apologised and took my meal off the bill, when my daughter came back she was so embarrassed and just wanted to hurry up and go,
