I went to the hourglass for my friend's birthday on 25th May this year with a number of fellow vegans. Staff were all absolutely delightful and very helpful and accommodating. Vegan food options were amazing and very original. None of the usual "risotto" and burgers. Such talented chefs. Would be great to see more vegan options on the menu the rest of the year. Thanks for a great evening Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Certainly the most delicious and balanced Sunday Roast I’ve had. The service was efficient. The food was excellent from start to finish. Desserts were so delicate and smooth. Booking recommended and it is worth it. A great moment with friends. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

The Hour Glass in Exeter is a lovely little urban pub. Admittedly it's a bit cramped inside but it's charismatic, allows dogs, has a nice calm interior with some rather curious paintings on the walls, plus friendly service and good beers from the Exeter Brewery. I enjoyed a pint of the rich and tasty 'Darkness' beer, which I've not tried before, and it proved to be a nicely balanced dark beer (less than a stout, perhaps like a porter?). I would have had a second pint if I didn't have a train to catch. Price per person: £1–10
