The Rivoli Bar at The Ritz is one of my favourite places. I absolutely love the new renovation — it’s much darker, grander and even more atmospheric than it was previously. The new Secret Garden is also beautiful and adds such a special touch. This visit was particularly special as we were there to raise a glass and toast our beautiful Danielle, on what would have been her 51st birthday. Sadly, we lost Danielle almost five months ago, so being together and celebrating her life in such a beautiful setting meant so much. The staff genuinely cannot do enough for you, and the service is always exceptional. The only downside, in my opinion, is that the minimum spend has increased from £25 per person to £75 per person. This does make it quite expensive if you simply want to pop in for a quick catch-up with friends and have one or two drinks. I think the previous minimum spend made it much more accessible for a casual visit. That said, I still absolutely love the Rivoli and think it’s one of the most beautiful bars in London. Have never stayed at this hotel but visited the bar many times over the last 8 years but they're renovating so had to ask for help locating it. Very helpful receptionist escorted us there (it's temporarily moved whilst hotel being renovated) only to find that as we're not hotel guests, they had a minimum per person charge of £50.....not impressed! I'm sure it was previously £30 and last time we were there it was pretty empty. We probably would have spent over £100 but I don't like being forced to do so. So we left - sorry to the very kind guy who took the trouble to take us all the way there for nothing! Disappointed that a bar we'd been too many times didn't want our custom...clearly we're amongst the riff raff they want to keep out.

We had a drink at the rivoli bar before our lunch at the restaurant. The bar looks amazing, very art deco style (husband loves it) and we enjoyed our drinks. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: £30–40 Recommendation for vegetarians: Not sure Parking options: Paid street parking, Valet Parking: It’s a great location, close to green park station, also the hotel staff could find a cab if you need it.
